Introducing The New OneBrick Website

One Brick elves have been busy lately, and we are excited to launch our new website!!! Things won’t look very different at first. We have tried to keep the same basic functionality that everyone knows, but this new/fresh implementation will provide a platform for future enhancements.

IMPORTANT: One small change you will notice immediately is the creation of user accounts. We now require an email/password to register for events. In future this will allow us to implement lots of new functionality such as waitlisting, personalized maps and the ability to remove yourself from an event roster.

Note: If you have volunteered with us before and wish to create a password, simply CLICK HERE and enter the email address you use with One Brick. You will be sent an email with a link to create your One Brick password.

If you find any issues, PLEASE let us know by sending an email to bugs@onebrick.org.

Chicago Chapter Leadership Changes

After almost five years, Amy Sheren has stepped down as the Chicago chapter’s Chapter Director.  Amy has been instrumental in One Brick Chicago’s growth, and her leadership will be missed.  But no worries, Chicago, Amy will still be volunteering and managing events (like tomorrow’s Booze ‘n Blankets)… So let’s raise a glass to Miss Amy!  Cheers!

Let’s also raise a glass to the new chapter leaders for Chicago: Jason Waugh (jasonw@onebrick.org), Chapter Director; Meghan Stegemann (meghans@onebrick.org); Angela Perkins (angp@onebrick.org); and Joanna Evans (JoannaE@onebrick.org).

2009 Annual Campaign

One Brick has kicked off its 2009 Annual Campaign.  You count on us throughout the year to deliver the best possible volunteer experience.  Chicago non-profits count on us to help bring enthusiastic volunteers to help their causes.  Now we are asking if we can count on you to help keep us running strong.

Here are a few ways you can help support One Brick during our Annual Campaign:

1.  Make a donation easily and securely on our website:  https://app.etapestry.com/hosted/OneBrick/OnlineDonation.html

2.  Send us a check to:  One Brick, 237 Kearny St., #209, San Francisco, CA  94108

3.  Ask your employer to make a matching donation.  They may also match your volunteer hours!  The info you may need for this is here:  http://www.onebrick.org/downloads/InformationSheet.pdf

4.  Ask your friends, family, colleagues to support you and One Brick by making a donation in your name using any of the above methods

As always, thanks for your support!

One Brick DC making headlines in The Post

The Washington Post  recently featured the DC Chapter of One Brick in an article that focused on the possible benefits for singles while volunteering for One Brick. It is a very nice article and we are appreciative of The Washington Post’s support of One Brick.

Please take a moment to look at the article on  Volunteer Opportunities as a Way of Meeting People
