Volunteering May Be Good For Your Health

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN Corespondent and Obama appointee for Surgeon General, recently wrote on the health benefits of volunteering on his CNN blog.  According to the article, just a few hours a week can lower your chances for heart disease and help you live longer.

In Illinois, more than 66,000 people participate in national service each year through 144 projects and programs. This year, corporations will commit more than $26 million to support Illinois’ national service initiatives.
